I. Start: Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center
II. Finish for 5K: Xiamen National Accounting College;
III. Finish for 10K: Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center
IV. Indicating boards shall be placed 100 meters ahead of the finish lines for each event, showing Men and Women's passages. Runners must run in through correct passages according to their event and gender.
V. Runners shall remember the time on the indicating board when they finish. Runners of 5K and 10K races will fill in the diplomas by themselves.
V. How to apply for the entry:
I. Age limit:
For Marathon race: runners must be 18 and above (born before Dec. 31,1985), must have more than 2 years' marathon training experience and be physically fit for the race.
For 10K race: runners must be 15 and above (born before Dec. 31,1988)
For 5K race: runners must be 13 and above (born before Dec. 31,1990)
II. How to make entry:
Each runner shall fill in an Entry Form (copy accepted). Either individual entry or team entry is acceptable.
There is no number limits to the runners.
III. Deadline of entry: March 25, 2003
To promote marathon sport in China and to encourage more marathon fans to run the first Xiamen International Marathon, the Organizing Committee decided to waive the entry fees for all participants.

5. The sponsors won't arrange the receptions and accommodations but will assign Xiamen Traveling Agency to help the participants both at home and abroad to book the hotel and air tickets (Paid by participants themselves) as well as arrange the receptions for the participants.

Hubing Road→Lujiang Avenue→Tongwen Road→Mingzhu Road→Yanwu Road (crossing the Bridge→Huandao Road→Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center
Features of Route:
Huandao Road along Xiamen's coastline reaches over 25 km, and Xiamen International Conference and Exhibition Center, the starting and the terminal places of the races, is close to Jinmen Island.( the nearest distance is only 3000m).

I. Prize money for international race (USD):
1st -10th place winners (male and female) will be awarded the prize money (see following table), a trophy and a medal.

II. Performance Prize for domestic race (RMB )
Male athletes who run full marathon within 02:15:00 and female athletes within 02:35:00 will be awarded RMB5000 yuan.
Male athletes who run full marathon within 02:10:00 and female athletes within 02:30:00 will be awarded RMB10000 yuan.
Note: 1. Performance prize and Prize money cannot be accumulated, athletes shall choose either of them.
2.The income tax of the Prize will be deducted by the Organizing Committee.
3. Athlete who makes the new world best time will be awarded RMB 500,000 yuan or equivalent foreign currencies for foreigner.
Team Award(RMB)
If more than 12 runners from one team finish within 03:00:00 for men and 03:40:00 for women, the team will be awarded RMB 5000 yuan, teams with over 8 runners finish as above will be awarded RMB 3000 yuan, over 5 will be awarded RMB 2000 yuan. If more that 50 runne the team will be awarded RMB 10000 yuan.
III. Athletes who finish the whole race within 06:00:00 will be awarded a Diploma, a souvenir medal and a bath towel.
10 km Race:
1.1st place winner (male and female) will be awarded a trophy, a medal and a suit of sportswear. 2nd --10th place winners will be awarded a medal and a suit of sportswear.
2.Athletes who finish the whole race within 01:30:00 will be awarded a diploma.
3.The top 200 athletes will be awarded souvenir medals.
4.All participants will be awarded a souvenir shirt, a number bib and a clothes bag.
5 km Race:
1.1st place winner (male and female) will be awarded a trophy, a medal and a suit of sportswear. 2nd --10th place winners will be awarded a medal and a suit of sportswear.

3. Athletes who finish the whole race within 01:00:00 will be awarded a diploma (filled in by athletes themselves).
IX. How to get Number bib, Souvenir Shirt and Bag
The Number bib, the Souvenir Shirts, the Clothes Bags and the participation guides will be distributed to every unit in charge of the entry from Mar. 26 to 27, participants may get them fromswheresthey apply for the entry.
